Hi, I'm Chanel!

I am a photographer, textile artist and educator based in Lenape Land (Brooklyn, NY).

I believe photography is a celebration of our selfhood and everyday joy. I love working with individuals and brands to create colorful stories of human connection.

In addition to sewing soft sculptures or taking pics, I'm an amateur roller skater, caretaker of cute dogs, popsicle artist, and lifelong fan of Miss Piggy.

"Gidra Studios" is named my artist alter ego "Queen Gidrea" a feminized version of the Godzilla villain King Gidora. This name honors both my Japanese heritage and reclaims the dragon-woman stereotype of East Asian femme identity.
